Scott McAlindin Scott McAlindin

Scott McAlindin is a former senior insurance and financial services executive with over 35 years leading significant claim, underwriting and IT operations for five separate Fortune 500 insurance companies. He currently serves as Principal of Commonwealth Consulting, LLC, a management consulting firm he launched in 2014 serving property/casualty and BPS companies in the areas of strategic planning, organization design, business process optimization, change management, product development and data analytics.

Scott’s professional journey began in 1975 as an auto claims adjuster for Aetna Life & Casualty. Over the course of the next 20 years, Scott assumed roles of increasing responsibility in claims and underwriting. In 1992, Scott was appointed as COO of Aetna’s IT operations. He returned to Aetna’s claims department in 1994 to assume the role of Vice President, Claims Strategic Resources & Shared Services, which included countrywide claims practices, subrogation, fraud, and large loss claim handling.

Following the sale of Aetna’s P&C business to Traveler’s in 1995, Scott was appointed as SVP of Traveler’s Commercial Auto, GL and Property operations. In 1997, Scott left Traveler’s to become Chief Operations Officer of AIG Claims Services, where he was responsible for AIG’s countrywide claim programs and practices.

In 1999, Scott was recruited by The Hartford to head up its countrywide personal lines claims operations. In 2003, Scott’s role was expanded to include Hartford’s countrywide personal and commercial claim operations as well as subrogation, fraud and claims communications.

In 2007, Scott left The Hartford to become Chief Claims Officer for MAPFRE where he was responsible for the design and delivery of claim services to over 1.5 million policyholders in 18 states.

Scott currently splits his time between homes in Canton, Connecticut and Isle of Palms, SC.



Michael Anderson Michael Anderson
Global Practice Lead, Guidewire


Michael Anderson has dedicated his entire 30-year career serving the P&C Insurance industry. As the Global Practice Lead, Ecosystem Michael helps Guidewire customers maximize their core system investment by focusing on claims automation. Prior to his current role Michael was the Business Owner of Guidewire Predictive Analytics, led Audatex North America Data Science & Analytic teams and served as Director, Travelers Insurance where he co-managed countrywide Personal Lines Claim Operations.



Paul Barry Paul Barry
Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association/CIECA, Executive Director


Paul Barry has more than 30 years in the insurance and technology industries. Over the last 20 years he has held executive / senior leadership positions with a focus on claims and auto repair technology.

He is currently the Executive Director of the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA).

He began his career with SAFECO Insurance Company as an auto claims adjuster. Over 22 years he held a number of management and leadership roles and eventually rose to the position of VP of National Operations for Safeco.

In 2006 he joined PerformanceGateway to help design and build an industry leading software product for managing Direct Repair Programs and Collision Repair Analytics.

Barry went on to consulting where he led a variety of insurance and collision related technology projects.

In 2015 he joined PEMCO Insurance to lead an initiative to transform their claims and analytics systems. Barry went on to lead the claims organization as the VP of Claims.

He joined CIECA in 2020.

Barry lives outside Seattle WA with his wife Jane. They have two daughters, Kelly and Allison.



David Antocci David Antocci
Industry Consultant


David Antocci has worked in insurance for more than 40 years. Currently consulting, he most recently served as Vice President of Claims for MAPFRE USA, a position he entered in 2005. In this role, he oversaw salvage operations and glass claims, and supervised a staff of 427 employees.

After earning his B.A. from Brown University in 1976, David began working for Royal Globe Insurance Company, first as Field Adjuster, then as Supervisor. During this time, he became licensed as an auto damage appraiser in the state of Massachusetts.

He joined MAPFRE in 1983, as a Supervisor of Physical Damage. Two years later, David accepted the role of Manager or Physical damage, and later became Manager of the Special Investigation Unit.

In 1996, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Claims. In this capacity, David was responsible for the oversight of the national operation of the Material Damage Department, including salvage, glass, and fleet operations.

During David’s time as Vice President of Claims, he led the development and rollout of the MAPFRE's Direct Repair Program, CAR EZ, in 17 states. The program has over 500 participating repairers and accounts for approximately 35,000 repairs annually.

David served as a member of the CCC and Safelite Advisory councils. He also served on various panels and provided testimony to the Massachusetts Legislature.



Bill Brower Bill Brower
Head of U.S. Auto Claims Strategy, LexisNexis Risk Solutions


Bill Brower is Vice President, Head of U.S. Auto Claims Strategy for LexisNexis Risk Solutions. He is responsible for leading the development of innovative products that help insurers achieve greater efficiency within their claims departments. With 30 years of P&C Insurance Industry experience, Brower has held numerous leadership roles with top carriers such as Liberty Mutual and Nationwide Insurance Company. Most recently, Brower served as Vice President and Manager of Strategic Partnerships for Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance where he led innovation efforts and managed vendor relationships across all claims disciplines. Brower earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Franklin University and his MBA from Shorter University.
